Corporate Days
Corporate days are welcome and the Centre can easily cater for staff and their families of up to 100 people. The Centre is well equipped and the experienced staff and volunteers are well organised for such events. A variety of activities can be incorporated with the most popular being focused around planting events. Timing needs to coincide with our optimum planting periods during winter or summer.
Winter: Dryland plantings commence in June and are followed by the plants occupying the transitional and upper zones fringing the wetland. Planting may continue through to August depending on seedling quantities and available labour.
Summer: Wetland plantings are affected by the water regime with minimum water levels occurring in March-April and maximum levels in September-October. Wetland plants are typically established between November and February as the water levels recede. The exact timing is determined by seedling quantities, plant species, available labour, accessibility, and the gradient of the wetland.
Larger events are welcome but require more planning and additional lead-up time. Educational visits such as frog talks followed by night walks are suitable during spring. Please contact the Wetlands Officer, Denise Crosbie, on (08) 9417 8460 if you would like to discuss an event in further detail.
